Allentown Freak Out

I got an email a while back from one of the organizers of the Allentown Freak Out. This "fringe festival," will feature avant-garde arts and entertainment on June 18 and 19, along the Hamilton Street corridor between 9th and 5th Streets. If you go, you'll see performances by Allentown Public Theatre, fire arts performers, Happy Hooper Lehigh Valley, indie bands and drummers; a film screening and art exhibits. It's tough to start a new thing, especially in downtown Allentown, and particularly if its appeal is not mainstream. It sounds like a lot of fun, though. I have to hand it to the committee that's putting this ambitious plan together and wish them a lot of luck. Stay tuned for updates. PS I took my camera to Dan's Camera City this week because the lens assembly won't retract into the camera body anymore. While it's on a vacation to southern California, the blog might be slightly less colorful. Sorry.

Hey, I'm one of the organizers of the A-Town Freakout. Thanks so much for the plug!
