Brangelina in Bethlehem?

Bethlehem celebrity gossip news??
In a town where "Celebrity" Scholastic Scrimmage and "Celebrity" bartenders are people you see shopping at Wegman's, reports of a true global celebrity appearing in the Lehigh Valley are pretty rare.

The word is that Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie and kids somehow avoided every cameraphone in creation and managed to have a normal family outing to Alando Kenyan restaurant on Main Street in Bethlehem. No word on whether elaborate disguises were employed. Regardless of whether it's true, it's fun to speculate about.

In Washington, political celebrities are everywhere, and every famous person visits Capitol Hill to lobby for their cause eventually. I saw George Stephanopoulous every morning at my local Washington Sports Club, reading The Washington Post on the elliptical trainer. When Michael Jordan was coaching (and later playing for) the Washington Wizards, we spotted him at restaurants all over town. A good friend worked for a company that worked for NBC News, and I once helped deliver a package to a bathrobed Tim Russert at his home.

Did anyone see them, or any other celebrities, this weekend?

  1. UGH!!!!!! Stop this please. The owner just posted that during Celtic Fest as a way for her to get people into her poorly run restaurant. In fact, if you refer to this article, they were in the UK the day before, flying their planes around with the kids. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/article-2041001/Angelina-Jolies-son-Maddox-accompanies-flying-lesson-iPad.html

So, you tell me how they were able to just jump over to Bethlehem pa of all places to eat at some low rent Kenyan restaurant on the same weekend that Brad Pitt's new movie opened? Do people just forget logic when it comes to the hope that a celebrity may h ave come to their town? I attempted to eat at this place one time and had to leave before we were even served because they wouldn't accept our restaurant.com coupon we got from them because the owner refused to show her employees how to use them. I highly doubt Brad and Angelina would put that at the top of their list for places to eat.

  2. Wouldn't it be great if they really were here? Users on my blog today have been posting all the celebrities they're running into around the LV, including Jayne Mansfield, Elvis, Charlie Sheen, Madonna and of course, Santa Claus (because well, after all, it is the Christmas City.)

  3. A friend of mine, Ted, always tells about the time he ran into John Lennon and Sean Lennon in the Lehigh Parkway. Disguises had been, obviously, employed.

  4. While Alondo's Kenyan Restaurant may have much to be desired service, their food is good. Calling them "low rent" is a reflection of how upset you got over not being able to use a coupon. Which I think is prity comical. Besides it's fun to imagine. Given how sexy the Lehigh Valley is, we are part of the real world and yes celebrities do just roll into town! Maybe not JEsus and Mary Jolie-Pitt. They're not cool enough for this town anyway!

  5. That pretty cool. It's always interesting to run into public figures in their daily lives. I was surprised that you mentioned seeing George Stephanopoulous on an elliptical machine though!
